Cybercrime Act 2018

The Act creates offences for illegal access, illegal interception, data and system interference, misuse of devices, computer-related forgery and fraud, and offences affecting critical infrastructure. It also covers identity-related and content-related offences. Read the Act on the Parliament of Guyana site for the exact wording.

Data Protection Act 2023

The Act regulates the collection and use of personal data. Its commencement matters because the Digital Identity Card Act relies on oversight that the Data Protection Act creates. Check the current status before relying on it.

International instruments

We have not confirmed Guyana's status under the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime. See the Caribbean tracker for what is verified.
